Terms of use

Last updated November 3, 2026

BidPost is operated by INIT LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we"). By using BidPost you agree to these terms. You must be 18 or older and give accurate information about yourself and your business.

What BidPost is

BidPost is a place to post projects and collect bids. We aren't a party to any contract between a poster and a contractor, and we don't perform, supervise or guarantee the work. Contractor checkmarks mean a contractor completed the checks described on the site at the time; they aren't an endorsement. A Gray check means a confirmed email and phone. A Blue check adds a business identity check. A Gold check adds our review of a general liability insurance certificate. None of them confirm licensing, workers' compensation, or that coverage fits your project, so posters should confirm licenses, insurance, permits and references before hiring.

What you can post

Listings must be real construction, repair or home-improvement projects. Not allowed:

  • Property for sale or rent, or ads for products or services.
  • Job postings for employees.
  • Asking contractors for money to bid or be awarded, gift cards, crypto, wire transfers, or anything else that looks like a scam.
  • Harassment, hate, threats, or other people's personal information.

Listings are screened automatically and may be held for review. We can remove listings, messages or accounts that break these rules. You can report a listing from its page and block someone from a conversation; our team reviews reports.

Fees, credits and refunds

Posting a project costs a standard base fee of $10. Sealed bidding (+$25) and required bid documents (+$25) are optional add-ons. All charges are itemized before you pay. Contractor gold memberships renew yearly until cancelled.

Two-bid guarantee. If a listing that runs to its due date doesn't receive bids from at least 2 different qualifying contractors, we automatically refund the whole listing transaction, including paid add-ons, to your original payment method. You don't need to ask. Refunds usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days. Any posting credit you used on the listing goes back to your account as credit.

A qualifying bid is one that wasn't withdrawn, came in before the final due date (including any extension), comes from a contractor who meets the level your listing asks for, and includes every document you required. The guarantee depends on the bids you receive, not on whether you hire a contractor.

The guarantee doesn't apply if you cancel a listing or award it before its due date, or if we remove it for breaking these rules. Those listings aren't refunded.

W-9s and sensitive documents

Posters can't require a W-9 or tax ID from bidders. After a project is awarded, the selected contractor can send a W-9 privately through BidPost. Don't put tax IDs in listings, bids, messages or other documents.

Sealed bids

On sealed projects, prices and documents stay locked from everyone, including the poster and BidPost staff in the app, until the due date.

AI features

When bids open, a poster can have AI read the proposal documents attached to bids to compare them. Contractors can opt out on the bid form; AI then reads their price and notes but not their documents.

Writing help, bid comparisons and other AI features are suggestions. Check them before relying on them; you're responsible for what you publish.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Your account.

Liability and law

BidPost is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for work performed, disputes between users, or indirect losses. These terms are governed by the laws of Missouri.
